Their Number One advantage is that they allow you to adjust the fork angle to achieve the optimum trail. Nobody knows exactly what the correct trail is, guideline for rigid frames is between 2" and 4" (50 and 111mm), where frames with rear suspension need a trail between 3" and 6" (75 and 152mm). You can adjust these triple trees from zero to 17 degrees, allowing you to change to the optimum trail, no matter if you use short or long forks. Tolle adjustable triple trees are CNC machined in aircraft quality aluminum and have a mirror shine polish finish. Lower triple tree plates have open slots in the rear, to properly secure the tubes. OEM triple trees do not have this unique feature. Available as 220mm pitch Mid-Glide triple tree, or 250mm pitch Wide Glide. Both are suitable for 1 5/8" (41.27mm) diameter fork tubes. These triple trees can also be used with 39mm fork tubes as found in XL, FXR and Dyna models when you also order 39mm adapter bushings and fork plugs. To ensure a comfortable ride and easy handling of your motorcycle make sure you choose the correct rake and fork tube length combination for the correct trail, if in doubt check with your Zodiac dealer. Correct trail is 5 cm to 10 cm (2" to 4") for rigid frames and 8 cm to 15 cm (3 1/4" to 6") for swing arm frames. The upper tree of the Fat Bob Custom Style trees has open slots, which increases the pressure on the tubes instead of the tube cups. This significantly increases the stability, particularly with long forks. The lower trees of both styles have open slots in the rear, to properly secure the tubes. OEM or other triple trees do not have this feature. The triple trees have a width of 250mm and will accept 15/8" (41.27mm) fork tubes, but will also take 35mm and 39mm fork tubes when proper adapter bushings and top fork tube plugs are used. Steering stops, adapter bushings, as well as other triple tree related parts are available separately. These triple trees are also available upon Special Order when you need themwith a different rake as listed below. Note: Tolle does not recommend use of Triple Trees with hidden tube caps for forks longer than 12" over stock FL (40" or 1015mm measured from the underside of the upper tree to the center of the wheel axle) and a trail not exceeding 5 1/8" (130mm).
